VIDEO AUDITION SUBMISSIONS FOR THE 2024 BEYOND BALLET SUMMER INTENSIVE

Please complete the Student Registration form. Be sure to include a link to your video (hosted on YouTube or Vimeo). The $25.00 audition fee is payable by credit card. All audition fees are final, non-refundable, and non-transferable regardless of circumstance! The video should be no more than 10 minutes in length and portray the student in a black leotard and pink tights, hair in a bun. Male students, please wear a fitted T-shirt and tights. Pointe Work is required only if you are currently on pointe. If a student applying has a variation video from 2023-2024, they may submit that instead in lieu of the class video.

How to register:

  3. Upload the required photos by clicking here.

  4. Upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo and send the video link to info@balleteastfl.com . ATTN: Video Submissions Summer Intensive 2023. Please be sure to list the
    student’s name who is auditioning.

Deadlines:

  • The Summer Intensive video audition deadline for international students is May 1, 2023.

  • The Summer Intensive video audition deadline for U.S. students is April 15, 2023

VIDEO AUDITIONS GUIDELINES

Barre Exercises:

  • Two demi-pliés and one grand plié in first, second, and fifth positions (single side)

  • Tendu (single side)

  • Frappé (single side)

  • Piqué (single side))

  • Rond de Jambe (à terre & en l’air) (single side)

  • Développé (single side)

  • Grand Battement (single side)

Center Exercises:

  • Tendu Battement

  • Abbreviated Adagio (four 8-counts)

  • Single pirouette or Relevé Passé if pirouettes have not yet been learned

  • Sauté (in all positions)

  • Changement

  • Assemblé

  • Brief Waltz across the floor (two 8-counts)

  • Boys Only: Big Jump or Single Tour en l’air

  • Pointe (only if you are currently on point)

  • Students new to pointe show the following with two hands on the barre: Relevé, Échappé (from 2nd and 5th)
